OneStonegrove’s 1st Christmas
December 2016 was a very busy month at OneStonegrove. Thank you to everyone who joined us in celebrating our first Christmas at our brand new building!
Here are a few of the highlights:
St Peter’s Messy Church – 3rd December
Celebrations began with St Peter’s Messy Church, bringing family-focussed fun with songs, games and an introduction to some Christmas secrets.
Any guess what’s happening here? Tweet @OneStonegrove or send us an email with your best caption for this photo, to win a box of Krispy Kreme doughnuts.
Community Bingo – 3rd December
Stonegrove and Spur Road Community Group gathered the young and old, beginners and experts for some traditional community bingo. The lucky winners, went home with some early Christmas gifts!
Winter Festival – 9th December
Family Mosaic & Groundwork hosted OneStonegrove’s very first Winter Festival, to give residents a head start on 2017. The event was packed with information and action, which included the latest job vacancies, training courses, jewellery making workshops as well as top tips on how to turn a business idea into a money making enterprise. As if that wasn’t already enough to digest, residents were also treated to a feast! Well of course, a festival wouldn’t be a festival if it didn’t include food.
Christmas Lunch – 13th December
Stonegrove Community Trust, The Hive Trust and St Peter’s church, joined forces to provide a scrumptious Christmas lunch for the elderly and others who struggle at this time of the year. The team brought some early Xmas cheer to Stonegrove with generous servings of turkey, stuffing and Brussel sprouts!
“The Christmas dinner was great and the Christmas pudding was the best ever” – Local resident
Dick Whittington Pantomime – 16th December
Stonegrove Community Trust welcomed Dick Whittington to OneStonegrove. For two hours, the old and young was transported to the magical setting of old London Town. There was excitement and adventure as the audience cheered their hero Dick Whittington and booed the evil Captain Blood.
We’ve already been inundated with requests for another panto in Christmas 2017. December feels like an awful long way away though, send us a tweet of email if you would like to see an Easter panto too.
