National Recognition for OneStonegrove
OneStonegrove the innovative new joint community and church facility has been named runner-up in the National Churches’ Trust President’s Award for new church architecture by The Duke of Gloucester at the 2016 Church Architecture Awards.
Judges highlighted the ‘confident and bold design’ of the joint community and church centre at the heart of a regenerated estate, ‘with its extraordinary position … [which] shows how a modern church building can anchor a community’.
Dan Goodman, Chair of the Trust said:
“I’m delighted at the recognition given to our fantastic joint building – it clearly shows how community representatives and the church can work together with other stakeholders and architects to make a real difference in the lives of local residents for the common good.”
Rev Simon Rea, Pioneering Minister at St Peter’s commented:
“It’s been wonderful to see how working together with the SCT and local community has made it possible to build ‘something more’ than the two separate facilities work originally planned in the regeneration and we pray that we can continue to do our part in helping our community flourish.”
